Leadership consulting that changes how your team works

We help managers become better leaders. Not through theory, but through practice.

About us

We started Leadership Focus Group because we saw too many organisations spending money on leadership training that produced binders, not results. Our founders spent years inside corporate structures before stepping out to build a consultancy that actually measures what it delivers.

Our team is based in Wales. We work with clients across the UK, both in person and remotely. Most of our engagements last between three and nine months, depending on the size of the leadership group and the depth of change needed.

We are not a franchise. We do not license someone else's framework. Every programme we run has been designed from our own fieldwork with real teams: retail managers, NHS department heads, fintech founders, manufacturing supervisors. The problems differ. The principles hold.

What sets us apart is follow-through. After every workshop or coaching session, we schedule a review four weeks later to see what stuck. If something did not land, we rework it. You pay for outcomes, not slide decks.

What we do

Executive coaching

One-on-one sessions with senior leaders. We focus on decision-making patterns, communication under pressure, and the gap between intention and impact. Sessions run 90 minutes, typically fortnightly over six months.

Team alignment workshops

Half-day or full-day sessions for leadership teams of 4 to 15 people. We identify where priorities conflict, where communication breaks down, and what decisions keep getting deferred. You leave with a written action plan and assigned owners.

Leadership assessment

We use structured interviews, 360-degree feedback, and behavioural observation to build a clear picture of how your leaders actually lead. The report includes specific recommendations, not generic competency scores.

Succession planning

Identifying who is ready to step up, who needs development, and what gaps remain. We build 12-month development plans for each candidate and check in quarterly to track progress.

Change leadership programmes

When your organisation is restructuring, merging, or shifting strategy, leaders need specific skills: managing resistance, communicating uncertainty honestly, maintaining team performance during disruption. We teach those skills through scenario work, not lectures.

Conflict resolution facilitation

Leadership teams that avoid conflict make worse decisions. Teams stuck in conflict make none. We facilitate structured conversations that surface the real issues and reach agreements people will actually follow.

How we work

Every engagement follows a clear sequence. Here is what to expect when you work with us:

  1. You contact us by phone, email, or the form below. We arrange a 30-minute call to understand your situation. No charge for this.
  2. We send a short diagnostic questionnaire to the leaders involved. This takes about 15 minutes per person and gives us a baseline before we meet anyone face-to-face.
  3. We visit your site (or arrange a video session) for a half-day scoping session. By the end of this day, we have a draft programme outline and a fee estimate.
  4. You review the proposal. We revise as needed. Once agreed, we schedule the work in blocks that fit your calendar, not ours.
  5. Delivery happens. Workshops, coaching sessions, assessments, whatever was agreed. Between sessions, we are available by email for quick questions.
  6. Four weeks after the final session, we run a review. What changed? What did not? We produce a short closing report with recommendations for what to do next, whether or not that involves us.

What clients say

Client portrait
"They told us things about our leadership team that we had been dancing around for two years. The workshop was uncomfortable in the best way. Six months later, our senior team actually talks to each other before making decisions."
— R. Davies, Operations Director, Cardiff

"The coaching sessions were practical. No jargon, no personality quizzes that go in a drawer. My coach pushed me to change specific behaviours, and she followed up to check I had."
— S. Patel, Head of Product, Bristol

Frequently asked questions

► How much does a typical engagement cost?
Executive coaching runs between £250 and £400 per session. Team workshops start at £1,800 for a half day. Full programmes with assessment, workshops, and follow-up typically fall in the £8,000 to £25,000 range depending on scope and team size. We quote fixed fees, not day rates.
► Do you work with small businesses?
Yes. Some of our best work has been with owner-managed businesses of 20 to 80 people. The leadership challenges are different from large corporates but no less complex. We scale our approach to fit.
► Can you deliver remotely?
Coaching works well over video. Workshops are better in person, but we have run effective remote sessions for teams spread across multiple sites. We will recommend the format that fits your situation.
► What industries do you serve?
We have worked with clients in healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, technology, education, and local government. Leadership problems are surprisingly consistent across sectors; the context changes, but the dynamics repeat.
► How quickly can you start?
Typically within two to three weeks of agreement. For urgent situations (a leadership crisis, a key departure) we can sometimes begin within days.
